ADRIAN LOCK: YSTRADGYLNAIS RFC BEST XV

This is 1 – 15 as chosen by Ystradgynlais rfc legend and 500 plus appearance man Adrian Lock.

15: Julian Hopkins
He was class. So skillfull and could set up a try from anywhwer4e, Was Ccaptain of Wales scoolboys and played against New Zeeland. Coached us too.

14: Bowdy Davies:
Pace, loads of pace. Shane Williams type player, if he saw a gap then he would score. A good goalkicker too.

13 Stuart Harris
Also came to coach us but played over 200 games for Llandovery, oozes class and another good goalkicker

12 Sean Harris –
Could play anywhere, scrum half, full back. Played 300 odd games, a real quality player and still playing

11 Matthew Edwards:
he’s at Birchgrove now. Played at a high level with Bridgend and Swansea. I’d much rather he was in my team than against him. Quality player

10 Ricky Williams –
Played for the Dragons, Swansea and was a general for us. Typical player that you want at outside half. Big boot on him too.

9 Ryan Jones –
His father was Man of Match in 1988 Sweps final for Neath. He could have played a higher level but was happy to stay with us. Great passer and rugby player.

1 Ryan Perrott –
Went to play for Bonymaen, I played youth with him, wasn’t a flash player but what he did, he did very well.

2 Chris Thomas –
Captain of my youth team. Went on to play for Newport, played for Wales under 19s in the World Cup. I always looked up to Chris.

3 Martin Jones:
I have learned a lot from Martin, a class player and you always knew what he was doing.

4 Craig Jones –
Played all rugby with him, juniors right through to seniors. He captain the under 16s Wales team and I’m coaching with him now for Swansea valley under 15s.

5 Vernon Cooper –
Since he has been coach I have learned so much from him. Great to play with someone like that, he always shouts at me on the field.

6 Darren Davies (Banchy)
Also capped and as hard as nails. If you are going into a war then you want him on your side. He’s captained the club too and had all the respect from all the players.

7 Dai Love:
He used to play outside half, heart of a lion. We were a young side at the time and he had an old head, Man of the match in the 2008 final in Strady park. 8 Chris Lock: My cousin, converted from hooker. He could run through a brick wall for you. Captain of the youth side, same age as me and we have always been competitive with each other.
