Thank You for Making the Heart of the Valley Show a Success!
What a day! On Saturday 6th September, the Heart of the Valley Show brought together our wonderful community for a celebration of local talent, crafts, local foodies and good old-fashioned fun—and we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who came along and made it such a memorable event. Someone was definitely looking down from above, bringing the sunshine out for, what feels like the last day of summer! How lucky we were!
From the moment the gates opened, the atmosphere was buzzing. Families, friends, the community and beyond, with even a few four-legged companions filled the showground with laughter, chatter, music. It really was the place to meet up with friends.
The stalls were brimming with handmade crafts, delicious treats, and local produce—thank you to all our fantastic vendors who showcased the best of what our valley has to offer. The live music kept toes tapping all afternoon, and the performances, wagging tails in the fun dog show, with shots on target and tackle pads hitting the ground from our newest sports area was full. Moos, bleats and baas from the animals, provided everyone with something to look at and enjoy. Laughter as crowds came off the vintage buses, with one young lad proudly telling me, he’d never been on a bus before, let alone an open top one, so he quickly jumped back on with friends!
Bringing you demonstrations from the wood carvers, blacksmith, chainsaw man, and the spinners and weavers has hopefully inspired a new generation of crafters. Did you hit the beat with the One Heart Drummers, have a go at flyfishing or sign up as a volunteer with one of the many community groups? Or simply enjoyed a well-earned cuppa or ice-cream while watching the world go by.
A special shout-out goes to the volunteers who helped set up, ran the day, and packed up. Your energy and enthusiasm were the backbone of the day, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
The Heart of the Valley Show is all about celebrating what makes our community special, and this year’s event was a perfect reminder of the warmth, creativity, and togetherness that define us.
Thank you again to everyone who came, helped, performed, or simply smiled.
