SWANS FANS SHOW SIGNS OF OPTIMISM FOR FUTURE OF THE CLUB

Swansea City fans appear divided on the clubs direction in a recent Facebook poll.

The 1-0 home victory over Charlton brought the club into the play-off places. The table shows that on the field the Swans are in with a far better chance of promotion this year.

Despite this, fans optimism is still only slightly improved as off the field issues continue and attendances are down from last year.

We asked ‘Are the Swans in a better position as a club at the start of 2020 than 2019?’

Approximately 55% responded that the club are in a better position with 45% feeling there is no improvement.

Recent comments by Chairman Trevor Birch about the cost of the clubs Academy will be concerning to many fans as will the January transfer window which has seen players depart in recent years.

Andre Ayew is one of the players linked with a move away, as with fellow high-earner Borja Baston. Sam Surridge has returned to Bourmouth after a loan spell in SA1 and fire-power is needed if the club are to challenge for a play-off spot

Rhian Brewster is linked to a loan spell at Swansea and optimism would be likely to improve should that signing be confirmed. The club will be hoping to extend that slight improvement in optimism with a what has been a frustrated fan base in recent years.
