FARMERS ARMS WAUNARLWYDD

‘Very hard pressed to find somewhere more perfect for the kids.’

June 2019. By Matty, SA4 Community Magazine.

A couple of weeks back Leanne and I went to the Farmers Arms in Warnarlwyd, keeping with the what to do with the kids in the summer holidays, we thought for a change we would take the kids with us for our meal……

As soon as we got out of the car James shouted across at someone outside, “hello hello”. The man said are you going to have lot of fun in the playground? He commented to us on how great it is for the kids here, and he could not have been any more right.

It was a Thursday night  and there were a lot of tables reserved, always a good sign. James and Alex had a cheeseburger and chips while Leanne went for the curry Balti, half and half and I went chose the Homemade Lasagne, both were from the specials board and were a very reasonable £6. There are not many places you can order your food with the kids, go out and play football in the football pitch they have out the back or let them run riot in the playground.

The kids as you would expect loved it, there is also a big bus that can be rented for parties, where they put films on for the kids to watch. After working up an appetite our food was ready and so were we.  The food did not disappoint.  Leanne really enjoyed her curry which came with a naan bread and my lasagne was wonderfully tasty. As someone who has had more than his fair share of lasagnes I was not disappointed. The boys tucked into their cheeseburger and fries and they proved a winner.

To finish Leanne shared a chocolate cake with the boys and I went for a lemon  cheesecake with cream. The cheesecake was stunning and was a lovely way to end the meal. The 4 meals and three deserts along with a diet coke, two fruit shoots and a peroni came to just over £35, great value for money! Leanne and I were very impressed with the waitress, who was really good with the kids. I think you would be very hard pressed to find somewhere more perfect for the kids.

What is nice about the pub is the bar was nice and busy with locals calling in for a beer on their way home from work and the restaurant and back area is perfect for the kid. We were both very impressed with the food and am sure that we will be calling in at some point over the summer holidays
