CLYDACH’S RESPONSE TO COVID19

From the Clydach Community Town Council.

ENGLISH (Welsh below)

Thank you to the Clydach Community Magazine for the opportunity to communicate once again with Clydach residents. We’re living through incredibly challenging, and for some, distressing times and the Community Council has worked hard to respond to the circumstances in the hope of supporting residents to the best of our ability.

As the impact of Covid19 became clear to us in mid-March we moved quickly to support the community. We erected marquees outside the High Street chemist to shelter those queueing for their medicines. We established a network of volunteers to support residents who need to self isolate on health grounds. A leaflet with information about the scheme was hand-distributed to every household in the ward and information posted about all support services on our website. We have over 30 volunteers in our network and they’ve all worked extremely hard to support individuals and families over the past three months by collecting prescriptions and medicines, food shopping and making regular welfare calls. The Community Council is so proud of and thankful to these incredible people. We’re grateful also for the support of the Local Area Coordinator, Sally-Anne Rees.

The Council has also tried to maintain high spirits in the community through holding a socially-distanced Easter Egg Hunt and Photomarathon. We’ve also tried to support our local businesses who’ve been there for villagers by collecting and sharing information about their delivery/collection services and contact details. Clydach has not been short of businesses that are going the extra mile not only for villagers, but also doing their bit to support our key workers by changing their day to day activities and many turning to making PPE for frontline workers. Please continue to support these local businesses that have been here for us throughout this difficult time.

Councillors have also ensured that the village continues to look attractive by reinstating our annual flowers baskets on shopfronts. You’re bound to see some of our councillors busily watering the baskets! And to crown it all, we’ve painted a bright rainbow and pink heart on our Community hall shutters to thank our key workers and bring a smile to the faces of all who see it.

Stay safe and well!

WELSH

Diolch i Gylchgrawn Cymunedol Clydach am y cyfle i gyfathrebu unwaith eto â thrigolion Clydach. Rydyn ni’n byw trwy gyfnod hynod heriol, ac i rai, gofidus, ac mae’r Cyngor Cymuned wedi gweithio’n galed i ymateb i’r amgylchiadau yn y gobaith o gefnogi trigolion hyd eithaf ein gallu.

Wrth i effaith Covid19 ddod yn amlwg i ni ganol mis Mawrth fe wnaethom symud yn gyflym i gefnogi’r gymuned. Fe wnaethon ni godi marquees y tu allan i fferyllfa y Stryd Fawr i gysgodi’r rhai sy’n ciwio am eu meddyginiaethau. Fe wnaethom sefydlu rhwydwaith o wirfoddolwyr i gefnogi preswylwyr sydd angen hunan-ynysu ar sail iechyd. Dosbarthwyd taflen gyda gwybodaeth am y cynllun â llaw i bob cartref yn y ward a phostiwyd gwybodaeth am yr holl wasanaethau cymorth ar ein gwefan. Mae gennym ni dros 30 o wirfoddolwyr yn ein rhwydwaith ac maen nhw i gyd wedi gweithio’n galed iawn i gefnogi unigolion a theuluoedd dros y tri mis diwethaf trwy gasglu presgripsiynau a meddyginiaethau, siopa bwyd a gwneud galwadau lles rheolaidd. Mae’r Cyngor Cymuned mor falch o’r bobl anhygoel hyn ac yn ddiolchgar iddynt. Rydym yn ddiolchgar hefyd am gefnogaeth y Cydlynydd Ardal Leol, Sally-Anne Rees.

Mae’r Cyngor hefyd wedi ceisio cynnal rhywfaint o ddifyrrwch yn y gymuned trwy gynnal Helfa Wyau Pasg wedi’i bellhau’n gymdeithasol a Ffotomarathon. Rydym hefyd wedi ceisio cefnogi ein busnesau lleol sydd wedi bod yno i bentrefwyr trwy gasglu a rhannu gwybodaeth am eu gwasanaethau dosbarthu / casglu a manylion cyswllt. Nid yw Clydach wedi bod yn brin o fusnesau sy’n mynd yr ail filltir nid yn unig ar ran pentrefwyr, ond hefyd yn gwneud eu rhan i gefnogi ein gweithwyr allweddol trwy newid eu gweithgareddau o ddydd i ddydd a llawer yn troi at greu PPE ar gyfer gweithwyr rheng flaen. Gobeithio y gallwch barhau i gefnogi’r busnesau lleol hyn sydd wedi bod yma i ni trwy gydol yr amser anodd hwn.

Mae cynghorwyr hefyd wedi sicrhau bod y pentref yn parhau i edrych yn ddeniadol trwy godi ein basgedi blodau ar flaenau siopau eleni eto. Rydych chi’n siwr o weld rhai o’n cynghorwyr yn brysur yn dyfrio’r basgedi! Ac i goroni’r cyfan, rydyn ni wedi paentio enfys lachar a chalon binc ar ddrws y Neuadd Gymunedol i ddiolch i’n gweithwyr allweddol ac i ddod â gwên i wynebau pawb sy’n ei weld.

Arhoswch yn ddiogel ac yn iach!
